Vršič
If
you are done with swimming and kayaking it's time to do some mountaineering.
The
Vršič
is with 1611 metres the highest pass of Slovenia. When you travel from
the Soča
valley over the Vršič
pass, you arrive in Kranjska Gora. This road was build during the first
world war by Russian prisoners.
Today
you can drive over the pass by car, or for the more sportive types by
bike. At the top of the pass you can park your car and climbe to higher
points on the Vršič.
Do not forget to look at Ajdovska Deklica, the great stone girl. Afterwards
a typical Slovenian mountain meal is waiting for you at the Poštarski
Dom.
